Take a deposit or stage payments on a quote

Invoice part of a job up front; it comes off the final invoice automatically.

  1. Send the quote (or mark it accepted).
  2. On the quote, under Deposit or stage payment, enter a percentage and choose Create deposit invoice.
  3. Check and issue the draft. Repeat for each stage if you bill in stages.
  4. When the job is done, choose Turn into invoice. Everything already invoiced is taken off as "Less" lines, rate by rate.

VAT on each deposit follows the quote's rates, so a VAT-registered business accounts for VAT when the deposit is invoiced or paid.
