Getting paid as a gardener

  • Bill regular customers monthly for all their visits rather than per visit.
  • Waste removal is a separate charge customers understand; list it.
  • Keep your waste carrier registration handy; some customers and councils ask for it.

Every UK invoice also needs a unique number, the date, your name and address, your client's details, what you supplied and the amount due. More on what an invoice must show.

How do I invoice seasonal work?

Quote one-off jobs like clearances or turfing at a fixed price, then invoice them separately from your regular maintenance.

Should I charge for travel?

If customers are outside your usual area, a small travel or mileage line is fair. Say so in the quote first.
