Getting paid as a makeup artist

  • A non-refundable booking fee holds the date; deduct it on the final invoice.
  • Charge travel and early starts as their own lines so they're visible, not hidden in prices.
  • For brand and editorial shoots, invoice the production company with the shoot name and date.

Every UK invoice also needs a unique number, the date, your name and address, your client's details, what you supplied and the amount due. More on what an invoice must show.

When should the balance be paid for weddings?

Many artists ask for it a week or two before the day so there's nothing to chase on the morning.

Can I charge for early starts?

Yes, an early-start supplement before a set time is common. List it on the quote and invoice.

Is this makeup artist invoice template free?

Yes, with no sign-up. Fill it in, download the PDF and send it. Nothing you type is uploaded.
