Getting paid as a musician

  • Venues and agencies pay against a gig date: put it in the description.
  • For session work, list the studio, project and hours; producers need it for their own accounts.
  • Royalties and PRS income aren't invoiced; this is for performance and session fees.

Every UK invoice also needs a unique number, the date, your name and address, your client's details, what you supplied and the amount due. More on what an invoice must show.

Should I take a deposit for gigs?

Yes, for weddings and private events. It secures the date; invoice the balance for payment on or before the day.

How do I invoice a venue?

One line per performance with the date and set length, plus any agreed travel or equipment hire.

Is this musician invoice template free?

Yes, with no sign-up. Fill it in, download the PDF and send it. Nothing you type is uploaded.
