Contractor housekeeping
- Keep the contract, statements of work and timesheets together for each engagement.
- Invoice the agency or client named in the contract, with their PO number if they use one.
- If you work through your own company, get advice on IR35 status for each contract. Fenquist doesn't assess it.
- Set money aside for VAT and Corporation Tax as invoices are paid, not when the bill arrives.
General information, correct as of October 2026, not tax or legal advice. Check GOV.UK or an accountant for your own situation.
Fenquist doesn't assess IR35 or handle umbrella company payslips.
