For tradespeople

Quote on site, invoice from the van.

Plumbers, electricians, builders and decorators: you're on the tools all day and doing paperwork at night. Fenquist lets you quote and invoice from your phone, and claim the miles you drive.

What gets in the way, and what helps

  • Writing up quotes in the evening.

Describe the job in a sentence and the lines are filled in for you to check, on site.

  • Customers who say they'll pay later.

Show the pay link on your phone and take card or Pay by Bank before you leave.

  • Materials receipts fading in the van.

Photograph them when you buy; the details are read and filed under materials.

Trade paperwork that saves money

  • Log every business journey: mileage at HMRC rates often beats claiming fuel.
  • Keep materials receipts, including small ones from merchants.
  • Domestic customers aren't covered by the late payment law, so agree payment on completion up front.

General information, correct as of October 2026, not tax or legal advice. Check GOV.UK or an accountant for your own situation.

What Fenquist doesn't do yet

Fenquist doesn't handle the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) deductions or the VAT domestic reverse charge yet.

Questions

Can customers pay on the spot?

Yes. Every invoice has a pay link with card, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Pay by Bank.

Does it work without signal?

You need a connection to send invoices. If it drops, Fenquist tells you and retries when you're back online.
